WCRI encourages member involvement in the Co-op in order to improve the sense of community and to exemplify our co-operative values and principles. One way for us to achieve this member involvement is the participation initiative (pi). All members will have the opportunity to volunteer for or be selected for a position and to attend social and community events within the Co-op. From committee participation to recycling reps, the voluntary participation of our membership assists in keeping the costs of WCRI housing below market rates.

In an effort to recognize the work of our membership, those members who get involved in the WCRI community will be rewarded with "Co-op Bucks" which can be redeemed for rent rebates, gift cards, and other items integral to life as a post-secondary student.

Members are encouraged to share their skills and interests with other members of the Co-op. This can be done through a Member Initiative; talk to your Division Manager to learn more about making your Member Initiative work.

And, because WCRI is a democratic environment, each member has an opportunity to make suggestions for improving the Co-op. If you have ideas about how to make WCRI a better place, talk to your Division Manager, a Board Member, or any one of the Office Staff.

By working together and getting involved in our co-op community we'll be able to create a memorable housing experience for all of our members. And don't forget that what makes WCRI so unique is that we are built, owned, and operated by a student community.
